Scholarship Application Guide

Making Higher Education Possible

Scholarships through The Community Foundation are made possible by generous local donors who believe in the power of education. Individuals, families and organizations have established scholarship funds to invest in students and help remove financial barriers to higher education, career training and lifelong learning.

Who Can Apply?

Scholarship eligibility varies by fund, but opportunities are available for a wide range of students, including:

  • Graduating high school seniors
  • Current college and university students
  • Graduate and postgraduate students
  • Non-traditional students
  • Students pursuing technical, vocational or career training programs

Many scholarships are intended for students from Hancock County, Ohio, although eligibility requirements vary by fund.

How to Apply

Create Your Portal Account

When the application opens on the first Wednesday in December, students can create an account and begin their application through the scholarship portal.

The scholarship application will not appear in the portal before the application period opens.
Students do not need to contact The Community Foundation before creating an account.

Complete One Application

We use a single scholarship application to connect students with opportunities they may qualify for.

After completing the application, our scholarship system matches students to eligible scholarship funds based on their responses and each fund's specific criteria. Students do not need to complete a separate application for every scholarship opportunity.

Submit Your Application

Once you create your account, you can begin completing and submitting your application. We encourage students to start early and allow plenty of time to gather any required information.

Ready to get started?

Visit the scholarship portal during the application period to create your account and begin your application.

One application. Multiple opportunities. Complete a single scholarship application and we'll match you with scholarships that fit your academic goals, background and qualifications.
