Scarlet G. Smith Findlay Silver Blades Figure Skating Club Support Fund

Established 2025

When Scarlet first put on a pair of ice skates at age five, she knew from that moment on that she wanted to be a skater. She joined Silver Blades that fall (2012) and was part of the club for 13 years until graduating in 2025. Scarlet was always highly motivated to master new skills and quickly moved through the first levels of instruction, landing her axle at 11. She completed her time skating at the ISI freestyle level 7, the USFS Skating Skills Bronze level, and the USFS Free-skate Preliminary level.

Scarlet gained a great deal from figure skating and her life would be much different if she hadn't had the opportunity to participate in this sport. She learned to set goals and work hard to achieve them, she learned how to work with others as a team, she learned to be proud of herself in all her accomplishments, and especially how to be a good friend to others. Even though it was not always easy to make ends meet, Scarlet's parents knew how much skating meant to her and made club membership a priority. Recognizing how challenging it can be for young families, Scarlet's parents are committed to supporting this opportunity for other children - particularly those who might otherwise be unable to participate.

This fund, established in honor of Scarlet by her parents, Ryan and Marie, will support covering membership fees for students in need at the Findlay Silver Blades Figure Skating Club.
