BVRSI Fund Announced

The Community Foundation is pleased to announced the establishment of the BVRSI Fund. This fund is designated to support the operating expenses of Blanchard Valley Residential Services, Inc.
Blanchard Valley Residential Services, Inc. (BVRSI) opened its doors in 1976. For 42 years it provided residential services to individuals with developmental disabilities through an Intermediate Care Facility. In June 2014, it became an independent non-profit organization.
BVRSI is dedicated to encouraging individual with disabilities to reach their greatest potential while supporting quality meaningful life choices and opportunities, through a person-centered approach in their home and community. The current residential program offers a home setting for 16 people in our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and offers waiver home services to individuals living in the community. These include:
- Assistance with Daily Needs – Direct Support Professionals provide 24-hour personal care, as well as recreational opportunities.
- Financial and Transportation Services.
- Medical Services – BVRSI nurses provide high quality medical care for individuals, such as medication administration, respiratory treatments, skin and wound care, and ostomy care. Staff provides 24 hours a day routine and emergency medical services, and continually assess individuals for medical concerns. A physician is present weekly or as needed, and is on-call to address medical concerns. Psychiatry, psychology, dietetic, occupational therapy, dental, podiatry, and audiology services are also available.
- Case Management – A Qualified Intellectual Developmental Professional (QIDP) is the case manager of individuals living in the ICF program. The QIDP is responsible for the developments of the Individual Service Plan and has the responsibility to ensure the plan in implemented.
In 2017, BVRSI launched a day services program which offers activities both on site and in the community. Through the power of relationships, BVRSI strives to have a positive impact not only on people with disabilities lives, but their families, our employees, and the entire community. Every action, large or small, has the power to bring out the best in all situations.
Nonprofit organizations place their agency endowments with The Community Foundation as a way to protect and grow their funds for their organizations’ future.
