Hancock Leadership Legacy Fund Announced
January 17, 2017
The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Hancock Leadership Legacy Fund, which will support future Hancock Leadership class projects.
The mission of Hancock Leadership is to develop and cultivate all people with a passion to serve our community through a dynamic learning experience that encourages self-discovery, fosters relationships and inspires stewardship. Businesses encourage their employees to participate in Hancock Leadership, a nine-month seminar program sponsored by the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce and designed to foster and promote volunteer leadership resources within the community on a planned, continuing basis.
Each year’s leadership class is asked to focus on a service-oriented project. In the past, classes have helped nonprofit organizations relocate, constructed park pavilions, garnered mentors for local students and more. For 31 years HL classes have been shaping Hancock County for the better. Distributions from this fund may be granted toward the current class’ service project.
Nonprofit organizations place their agency endowments with The Community Foundation as a way to protect and grow their funds for their organizations’ future. As the endowments grow, they become an increasingly valuable source of support for the programs and services these agencies provide to the community.
