Mt. Blanchard Heart & Soul Project Coordinators Selected
July 07, 2017
The Community Foundation is pleased to announce the co-coordinators of the Mt. Blanchard Heart & Soul Project. Jackie Porcello (left) and Amanda Rardin (right) have been selected by the team to lead the project through its four phases.
Porcello spent more than 30 years at Marathon Petroleum Company working in accounting. She has also worked in the county school system as a substitute teacher and teacher’s aide. She has been a Camp Fire leader, committee chair at Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church, village beautification committee member, parks board member and more.
“It is an honor to be chosen as one of the co-coordinators for the Village of Mt Blanchard,” said Porcello. “I look forward to working with everyone and hearing the stories about the hopes and dreams for our community. We want to be inclusive and make sure every voice is heard. We are very excited to move forward.”
Rardin is a recent transplant to the Mt. Blanchard area. She spent a number of years in the customer service industry prior to opening her own floral design and gift shop.
“I am beyond excited to be working with Jackie and the rest of the Heart & Soul team,” said Rardin. “As a new resident in Mt. Blanchard, I look forward to meeting new people and learning about the village I now call home.”
Now that the project coordinators have been selected and the work plan is finalized, the team will move forward into Phase 2: Explore the Community. In Phase 2, data will be gathered and analyzed to create value statements. These statements will carry into Phase 3: Make Decisions where the community will create a plan for the future. Phase 4 will be the action stage where the stewardship team will ensure the plan is implemented.
