Reasner and McMath Earn Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® Designation
June 02, 2017
The Community Foundation is pleased to announce that two local professional advisors have earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) professional designation from the Richard D. Irwin Graduate School of The American College. The first designee is Clyde J. Reasner, Financial Advisor at Northwestern Mutual in Findlay. Also earning the designation is Tracy L. McMath, Development & Planning Giving Officer at The Community Foundation.
The CAP® program provides professionals in the nonprofit and financial services fields that work with individuals and families in the development and implementation of philanthropic programs with the knowledge and tools needed to help clients reach their charitable giving objectives while also helping them meet their estate planning and wealth management goals. The Community Foundation hosted Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® study group. Advisors who enroll meet bimonthly to discuss assignments and prepare for upcoming exams.
Candidates for the CAP® designation must complete a minimum of three courses in philanthropic studies at the Irwin Graduate School and six hours of rigorous, supervised written examinations. The curriculum addresses the advanced design, implementation and management of charitable gift techniques and strategies, and other philanthropic tools. Less than 1,000 individuals have been awarded the CAP® designation since its inception in 2003.
CAP® graduates are professional advisors who can help their clients who are charitably included improve their communities by maximizing the effective application of their financial resources. In addition, professionals that have earned the CAP® designation are uniquely qualified to help charitable organizations achieve long-term financial stability.
