Schlueter Scholarships Available for Current Teachers

Applications are now being accepted for the Jon A. Schlueter City Teacher Scholarship and the Jon A. Schlueter County Teacher Scholarship. These scholarships will assist current teachers employed by Findlay City Schools, the Hancock County Educational Service Center, or one of the eight local schools in Hancock County who are looking to get their masters or doctorate degree.
Applicants for the Jon A. Schlueter City Teacher Scholarship must currently be employed by Findlay City Schools and have been for a minimum of three successive school years. Applicants for the Jon A. Schlueter County Teacher Scholarship must currently be employed by the Hancock County Educational Service Center or one of the eight local schools in Hancock County and have been for a minimum of three successive school years.
All applicants must also have applied for and been accepted into a graduate degree program at an institution of higher learning for obtaining a masters or doctorate degree in a field of study for which the applying teacher is certified to teach or can be certified to teach upon completion of the degree.
There is $8,000 available in total, $4,000 for county teachers and $4,000 for Findlay City School teachers. Preference will be given to currently employed teachers who display the following qualities: enthusiasm, energy, creativity, a positive attitude, diligence, thorough preparation for classroom teaching, good communication skills with students, are motivational, are professional with peers, parents and administration, and display and project characteristics of becoming an outstanding teacher.
Applications and complete eligibility requirements are available for city school teachers and county school teachers. Applications must be received by May 30, 2019 at The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation office, 101 W. Sandusky St., Suite 207.
