Irma Maxheimer Dana Memorial Scholarship

The funds were transferred to the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. Irma Marie Maxheimer was born May 12, 1904 in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois, where she attended elementary and high school. Upon graduation in 1923, she moved to Evanston, Illinois, where she met and married Paul A. Dana. The couple became the parents of two daughters, Mariann Dana (Younger) of Findlay, Ohio and Margaret Dana (Bogerson) of Mt. Pulaski, Illinois.
Irma Dana was a strong supporter of the academic and extra curricular activities in which her daughters participated. She was especially active in the Band Boosters, a group that supported the excellent instrumental music program of MPTHS. This scholarship is given in honor of a great lady, whose life exemplified kindness, reaching out, helping and giving to anyone in need.
This scholarship may be renewed for up to three (3) consecutive years.
Eligibility for Renewal Applicants
- The applicant must be a Mt Pulaski High School graduating senior who will continue their education after high school, or a previous recipient reapplying.
- The applicant must be enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university, a three-year school of nursing, or a junior college transfer program.
- The applicant must be involved in school and community service activities.
- The applicant must have maintained a grade point average of 2.5 or above out of a 4.0 system.
- Students who receive full scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.
- Financial need is not a consideration.
Eligibility for New Applicants
- The applicant must be a Mt Pulaski High School graduating senior who will continue their education after high school, or a previous recipient reapplying.
- The applicant must be accepted in a four-year accredited college or university, a three-year school of nursing, or a junior college transfer program.
- The applicant must have participated in music, art, or drama while in high school. There is no requirement of post secondary study.
- The applicant must be involved in school and community service activities.
- The applicant must have maintained a grade point average of 2.5 or above out of a 4.0 system.
- Students who receive full scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.
- Financial need is not a consideration.
