M. Andrew May Scholarship
Go Back to Filtered List | Search AgainThis scholarship is dedicated to the memory of M. Andrew “Andy” May, (1975–1998). Andy May was a 1994 graduate of Findlay High School, where he was a nationally ranked member of the Debate Team. Andy was active in student government, volunteered at Camp Horseshoe and was a member of the Norcrest Presbyterian Church. Andy was a senior at Ohio University majoring in Political Science and Creative Writing. While at college he was a member of Writer’s Groups and was a two-year co-chairman of the Athens Film Festival. The purpose of this award is to provide financial assistance to a deserving student who wishes to pursue a major in Writing, Political Science, Government, or any field of social studies at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university as a full-time student.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a Findlay High School graduating senior or a Findlay High School graduate pursuing a degree in social studies or writing.
- The applicant must be involved in school and community service activities.
- Applicants who excelled in social studies in high school may receive priority.
- The applicant must have maintained a 3.0 GPA in the most current grading period.
- Current high school graduates must reside in Hancock County.
- The applicant must be a citizen of the United States of America.
- Applicants who receive full scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.
