Go Back to Filtered List | Search AgainThe R. Wayne Sink Memorial Scholarship was established by Tami Sink in memory of her father, Wayne. Wayne was born in Hancock County Ohio in 1938 to Donald and Elizabeth Sink. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1956 and married Judy D. Hartman, also an Arlington High School graduate. Wayne was very involved in high school athletics, including basketball, baseball and football, where he was quarterback of the 1955 championship team. Following high school he attended the Columbus College of Business and had a 35 year career with Marathon Oil Company. Wayne also spent many hours working at his dad’s orchard, was an active Lion’s Club member, and a participant in the Marathon Golf League. He enjoyed spending time in the garden, riding his bicycle around town, and taking drives in his cars
Standards for Determining Eligibility
- The applicant must be a male athlete graduating senior of Arlington High School.
- The applicant must plan to be a full-time student enrolled for their first year at an accredited two or four year college or university
- Applicant must be a citizen of the United States of America.
- The applicant must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or above while in high school.
- The applicant must have participated in sports for at least two years of high school.
- Financial need is a requirement.
- Students who receive full tuition scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.
