Roy R. and Katherine L. Schwinn Scholarship
Go Back to Filtered List | Search AgainThis fund was established through Roy's and Katherine's estate plans. It will award two scholarships per year, one in memory of Roy and one in memory of Katherine.
Roy R. Schwinn lived in Hancock County, Ohio, for nearly 80 years before his passing in 2019. He worked for the Clerk of Courts and then Cooper Tire for more than 40 years. He managed rentals and farmed the homestead. Roy graduated from Rawson High School and Bliss College.
Katherine L. Schwinn lived in Hancock County, Ohio, for nearly 80 years before her passing in 2018. She worked for 45 years for various local businesses. She ended her career with the Whirlpool Corporation, Findlay Division. For over 50 years, she was an avid bowler in leagues and tournaments in state and national competitions. She graduated from Findlay High School and attended Findlay College.
Roy's memorial scholarship will benefit a graduating senior from Cory Rawson High School who plans to major in agriculture or business.
Katherine's memorial scholarship will benefit a graduating senior from Findlay High School who plans to major in music or business.
Standards for Determining Eligibility for the Roy R. Schwinn Scholarship
- The applicant must be a graduating senior of Cory Rawson High School.
- The applicant must plan to be a part or full-time student enrolled at an accredited university, college, technical school, or community college in Ohio.
- The applicant must plan to major in Agriculture and/or Business.
- The applicant must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or above while in high school.
- The applicant must demonstrate hard work and display some job experience.
- The applicant must demonstrate good moral character.
- The applicant must have demonstrated good attendance while in high school.
- The applicant must have NO criminal record.
- Applicant must be a resident of Hancock County and a citizen of the United States of America.
- Financial need is a requirement
- Students who receive full tuition scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.

- The applicant must plan to be a part or full-time student enrolled at an accredited university, college, technical school, or community college in Ohio.
- The applicant must plan to major in Music and/or Business.
- The applicant must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or above while in high school.
- The applicant must demonstrate hard work and display some job experience.
- The applicant must demonstrate good moral character.
