Janine (Jan) Ladd was born in Bryan, Ohio and graduated from Wayne Trace High School. She went on to graduate from the University of Findlay in 1989. There she met her college sweetheart, Phil, who she married in 1988. Together they have three daughters, Tara, Taylor and Jordan.
After graduating, Jan was a riding instructor in UF's western equestrian studies program from 1989-2003. In addition, she started Roeder Performance Horses where she trained, coached and showed quarter horses. Jan was an excellent horsewoman and had a special gift for teaching others. She shaped and inspired the lives of many.
Jan shared her passion for horses with her daughters, who were actively involved with horses at early ages. She and her daughters were involved in the reining industry, often traveling long distances to compete.
Jan was kind, compassionate, strong and graceful. Family and friends established this fund to continue to give in her memory.
