Invisible Wounded Fund

Diane Rau grew up in Michigan and settled in Findlay in the 2010s. She worked as a Leadership Development Specialist in the Nuclear Power Division of First Energy. Since retirement, she has become a published author of travel articles for magazines and romance novels.

Diane created the Invisible Wounded Fund to promote awareness of and educate the community on the effects of emotional and verbal abuse. Although the wounds from emotional and/or verbal abuse are not visibly seen as in other forms of abuse, the effects from this type of abuse run deep, penetrating one's psyche and leaving "scars" that can last a lifetime.

The fund will educate the public on the effect of verbal and emotional abuse and support women ages 13 and older to overcome these effects through resources ranging from counseling, workshops, seminars, safe havens, support groups and activities that promote self-discovery, healthy communication, self-confidence, to something as simple as a spa service.

It is Ms. Rau's vision that each woman discovers and embraces the fact that she is of value to society and is worthy of living a positive, productive, and emotionally healthy life.
